WEDNESDAY, DEC. 29: A career criminal admitted to a dozen charges of theft, citing his reason as he “loves to get high”.

Kevin Davis, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty today to breaking into various businesses between September 25 and December 21 and stealing a variety of goods.

Davis admitted stealing cigarettes from Collector’s Hill Tigermart, rain jackets from Island Trading on two occasions, alcohol from Miles Market on three occasions, cigarettes from East Broadway Shell Station, a motorcycle, hygiene products from Clarendon Pharmacy, alcohol from Latin Rumbar, and cigarettes from Warwick Esso Gas Station twice.

Asked if he had anything to say, Davis explained: “At the present moment, I would like to apologise to the business establishments.

“I done it to get high. I love to get high and until I change my mindset, it will always happen.

“I know that it’s consequences behind my actions and I’m ready to deal with the consequences.”

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner sentenced Davis to four years in prison for counts one through four and one year for stealing a motorcycle.

The rest of the charges were to be taken into consideration.

He was also given two years probation.
